have always thought new years' to be over-rated, minus all the "i haven't bathed/seen you since last year" jokes i (still) find amusing. but this year's is different, maybe because i've been waiting for this day since half a year ago. 2014 seemed to be the year when everything bad i've done piled up in a seven-seater car and hit me head on time and time again. i've learnt my lessons, paid my dues, and honestly i'm dying for things to change. so things, please do change.
regarding the disappearing plane and its crash into the ocean, it just once again drives into me 1) how scary flying is, 2) how easy it is to die. the only singaporean on the plane is my mum's kindergarten student, and when she realized it, she cried and said that the girl always had it short because she was so nice. and how she never thought it would hit so close to home. am really scared of turbulence and flying in general, and to anyone who asks, i say it's because it's so hard to escape when things go wrong. versus a car accident (okay maybe the image of me jumping out of a 80km/h moving car isn't very realistic...) and to just sit there in the plane seat hoping that it stops falling or hoping for a miracle... not that i'm not a believer of hope, but having back-up plans to that comforts me more.
on another note, am really loving the weather in sg rn, when it's not raining.
