sunset
at smile village. it was such a busy day, and i only caught it cause i
had to ask the doctors a question. took a few seconds break to take
these pictures, glad i did, it was so pretty and i'm such a big fan of
sunsets :-)

the
first evening we reached PCH, we caught another pretty sunset!:D
definitely couldn't pass up the chance of making silhouettes(i couldn't
spell this word)

after the first screening at battambang! sat in the truck for this sole
purpose (glad i did too cause the truck broke down the next day!!) even
managed to get a bokeh shot, no idea how?!
AHHHH my favourite.
was feeling quite unwell this screening day and felt quite faint there so i took the chance to go with the doctors to
the village to see the nus kids. then we got stuck cause the driver
refused to drive us out until 5pm. ah well. so i learnt to ride a
motorbike hehehehe so fun!!! and such a pretty place to be stuck at too
:")) with greens all around
with the 2 really young at heart doctors!!!! hope i become like them next time, to stay so fun!! :D

this really fun bunch of 25 people i spent 13 days with (: thankful.
my
trip summarized in pictures (: this year's trip was really so so so so
much better for me compared to last year's. maybe it's the timing, maybe
it's the company, maybe it's cause the m2s planned, but i felt more
connected this time. there were many moments along this trip i asked
myself if we were actually doing anything substantial for the long-term
for the people there, since we're only treating mostly acute illnesses which probably can resolve themselves after a few days.
and i haven't really found a satisfactory answer for myself, but what i
truly realized is the importance of education. last year i went for a
day of education, and didn't enjoy myself at all. this year, it took me a
really long time to realize it, but education is rly so so impt. learnt to not underestimate how much our words can make an impact on their lifestyle changes which directly impacts their health. those people rly look up to us like we're
superheroes, and it is such a humbling experience. especially when i'm
feeling inadequate half the time here in singapore, to know that little
me had made a difference in someone else's life, (: was really fortunate
to be a witness to the truly good human nature in the people of
cambodia. many times i wondered how much different i'd be if i were born
in a less developed society? definitely, i'd be more grateful.
hope i'd be able to go back for such trips when i'm a doctor next time. and fulfill my dream of going for MSF someday! (:
so, thank you to everyone on the trip. everyone had made me smile one way or another :)
memorable things that happened this trip:

caught a meteor shower!!! all my life i never thought i would be lucky
enough to catch a shooting star... but i caught 20 in a night :") thank
you universe
- our electrical extension caught fire, and i saw an electrical fire for the first time in my life. it was so smelly
- black out in the orphanage one night
hmm i rmb there were more but not too sure rn. :(
hopefully we've managed to help as much as we could :)
